A New Chapter

I am fiercely determined to love my family well and serve my community well, too.

I am hopeful and excited to adjust the way that I do both.

2020 and 2021 brought a global pandemic and challenges for all of us but also brought a complex medical diagnosis for my youngest son, devastating cancer news for my dad and a eight month, ongoing battle with COVID-19 and “long-haul symptoms” for me. I have been juggling motherhood and a professional life for nearly 18 years but nothing can turn your reality upside down like a life altering medical diagnosis…or three. Health was something that I had historically put on the backburner. Admittedly, family could sometimes get bumped for work. It was time to recalibrate and change was not optional this time.

In the eye of the storm, some things became very clear. The way that I had always done things was no longer working. Believe me, I tried. I had to find a way to make things work for our family in this difficult season. I didn’t want to feel panicked about missing work every time Children’s Hospital called to schedule another appointment. I didn’t want to be thinking about work at home and home at work. I also needed the flexibility and time to get well and there was no way to gauge what that might look like. My recovery was proving unpredictable and together it all seemed like an unsolvable riddle.

I couldn’t shake the idea that there had to be another way. I stepped away and began to catch my breath. I started to imagine what that balance could look like. The ideas evolved into plans. The plans came together at rapid speed. My tribe rallied around me with encouragement, advice, opportunities and even free furniture!

What started with a “what if…” and ended with the stars aligning in a million different ways has blossomed into a strong vision. I am fiercely determined to love my family well and serve my community well, too. Things are going to look different than they have in the past but I am hopeful and excited to adjust the way that I do both. Welcome to the Law Office of Heather Henry Keesee…my little corner of the internet and Waverly, Ohio. I am so glad that you are here.
